The First Wilderness Story Collaboration brings together experts — authors, historians, and those with deep roots in western Warren County — with students and editors who research and write stories that support heritage tourism.

Sara Frankenfeld, Warren County GIS Administrator. Sara has 25 years of experience in Geographic Information Systems, most of them spent in the local government setting. She grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area but spent every summer of her childhood visiting her family's camp near Lake George. An innovator in GIS media, Sara is thrilled to be raising a family in Warren County and has happily called Glens Falls home for the past 23 years. She loves being able to dedicate her work time to helping improve quality of life for County residents and visitors.

Don Lehman, Warren County Director of Public Affairs. As Warren County's chief communications officer since March 2020, Don is responsible for a wide range of communications that support heritage tourism, including the county's social media channels. He previously worked for 26 years as a reporter/team leader for the Glens Falls Post-Star, covering crime, government and outdoor recreation. A graduate of Castleton University and resident of Queensbury, he is an avid fisherman, hiker, biker and paddler.

Don Rittner, Executive Director, Warren County Historical Society. An award-winning author of more than 50 books, feature films, and documentaries, Don is also an archaeologist and a professor of anthropology/archaeology at SUNY Westchester. He has served as the Schenectady County Historian, the Schenectady City Historian, and the Albany City Archaeologist. In the 1970s, he was instrumental in the establishment of the Albany Pine Bush Preserve. His interest in collaborative media dates back to 1992 when he published EcoLinking: Everyone's Guide to Online Environmental Information, a pioneering work that showed how to use the emerging Internet for a social cause, saving the environment. In 2017, he rewrote EcoLinking as a hands-on activist manual.

Following a long career in academic public relations -- serving as chief communications officer for Syracuse University, University at Stony Brook, and Skidmore College -- he launched Cliff & Redfield Interactive in 2015 to produce collaborative communications that serve the public interest.
